We all know the significance of Happy Dhanteras. As per the Hindu mythology Dhan means the wealth or money and Teras means the thirteenth day in the month of Kartik, as per the Hindu Lunar calendar. So, on the day of Dhanteras celebration people worship the goddess Lakshmi - The Goddess of Wealth and money. It is believed that bringing Goddess Lakshmi’s statue and symbolizing her brings wealth, prosperity, joy and happiness into one’s home.
Also, in the evening the people worships the God Ganesha along with the Goddess Lakshmi. On this very day of Dhanteras people get up early in the morning and start cleaning their houses and offices, they wear new and ritual clothes, purchases valuable things like ornaments, gem stones, new house hold appliances.
